The plan is something about how many transactions you have, not the times you go to a branch. A deposite, withdrawal, or transfer is called a transaction. 3. I have no idea.

In fact, personally, I really DON'T think it's neccessory to open an account before you go. After you land here, you can find a nearest branch, or a branch with employees speaks Mandarin, and either will make you feel convenient. If you open the account in China, you still have to name a home branch (KAI HU HANG), and you have totally no idea where it is.

我刚来的时候，前半个月没有信用卡，我用Standard Plan，chequing account放$3000免服务费的那种；一个月后，转成Instabanking Plan（$1500免服务费). 原则是：能用信用卡是用信用卡；不能的话，用cash；如果数目较大，用debit card。

我发现这里，用cash的机会比国内还多些。有些小店10块钱以下不能用credit card；华人超市一般都不能用credit card. 所以，零零碎碎的小钱用cash比用debit card好，因为用debit card算1次transaction.

其实，每月付几个账单，去几次cash, 偶尔用debit card, Basic plan也够用了。instabanking plan更方便点。

而且，我也建议来了再开户。因为国内开的户，不过是有个账户号，如果你不需要马上电汇钱到这个账户上，好像没有什么好处。缺点是：你来了之后要在指定的branch激活这个账户。这样看，你来了之后就近开户还方便。
