Before the Canadian National Exhibition opens on August 19th, the CNEA invites the young and young at heart to participate in HORSEPLAY. A delightful and free introduction to horses, HORSEPLAY takes place every day as part of the new expanded program of the Canadian National Exhibition Association Horse Show. Admission is FREE!
(Free Admission valid August 2 to 18 only.)
Over the course of three hours, you can escape the city and enter into a completely different world. HORSEPLAY is both educational and fun! Check it out! Enjoy Wagon Rides. Discover how a horse thinks, acts & reacts. Pet a Horse. Meet a mare & foal (mother & baby horse). Guess a Horse’s Weight. Tour the Toronto Police Service Mounted Unit’s Horse Stables. Learn about grooming and shoeing a horse. Feed a horse. Watch trick riding (August 17 & 18th). Games, contests & prizes!
ENJOY THE HORSE SHOW COMPETITION
As part of your afternoon at HORSEPLAY, you can also watch the professional horse competition in the coolness of the recently renovated Ricoh Coliseum. Cheer your favourite horse on to win the first place Red Ribbon!
Light Horse Competition
August 2 to 3
(Horses under 1600 lbs)
Featuring Road Horses, Hackney Horses and Ponies, Shetland Ponies, Morgans & Saddlebreds
Heavy Horse Competition
August 5 to 7(Horses more than 1600 lbs)
Featuring Belgians, Percherons & Clydesdales
Hunter Jumper Competition
August 10 to 16
Featuring horses with riders that jump over barriers
