Help, my HD seems dead! Or my computer seems dead!

Obviously, my PC has been working fine until yesterday.

The problem is, sometimes the PC works find. Sometimes, I would say in many cases, it stuck right after Auto Detect IDE is done. The screen reads something like: HD has been detected, CD-ROM has been detected, then the PC just freezes, not even CTRL + ALT + DEL can reset it!

I have tried to restore the BIOS to default mode, fail-safe mode, optimization mode..., none of them worked.

I would like to believe that it's so kind of Virus that damages my BIOS or HD, but I am not convinced myself.
